Visit the marvel called Marrakech

One of the most fascinating destinations to visit in North Africa is the city of Marrakech the capital of Morocco. It is a relatively modern city that still retains its old world charm and has a number of wonderful must see attractions to visit and explore. Just take a stroll in its famous Medina (old-walled city) and you will experience a riot of smells, sights and sounds that will leave you charmed as well as overwhelmed at the same time. There is a lot to do whether it is sampling the local cuisine at the Djemma el Fna, or even getting involved in making your own exotic meal at any of the numerous culinary schools in the area. Marrakech with its exotic souks, hammams and museums among other interesting places is a great place to spend a wonderful holiday at.

When it comes to 5 star hotels Morocco has a quite a few top notch places, with most of them being in the capital Marrakech.  To ensure you get suitable accommodation it is recommended to make your hotel reservations in advance.

One of the best places to stay in Marrakech is the Eden Andalou Aquapark and Spa All Inclusive, popular with foreign tourists to the city and well known for its excellent facilities and world class customer service. When in Marrakech some interesting places to do and visit are:

Dine at the Djemma-el-Fna: The Djemma-el-Fna could be described as the focal point of life in Marrakech. It is the largest central square located in the old city. Towards early evening it undergoes a transformation and becomes a medieval entertainment centre. Visitors will find stalls that offer the finest local delicacies and the place gains a colourful appearance and atmosphere with snake charmers, jugglers, fortune tellers and story-tellers among a host of other street performers. As Moroccans dine rather late it is best to drop in for a meal after 8pm.

Improve your culinary skills: The cuisine of Morocco is world famous but very few have mastered its creation, outside of the country. If you have a passion to cook, you could join any of the several informal cooking classes in the city, where a professional local cook will teach you how to prepare traditional Moroccan fare.

Visit the tranquil Majorelle Gardens: One of the most tranquil places to visit in Marrakech is the Majorelle Gardens that houses exotic plants. The botanical gardens are a serene place with colourful plants and lies to the north-west of the Medina. It was the creation of French artist Jacques Majorelle, who settled here in 1919. Later in 1980, Yves Saint Laurent purchased and restored the place. The workshop of Majorelle now is home to a small museum of Islamic Art.
